LOOK KOOL

The statement of this practice asked us to design a bag for a company. This company could sell what we would like.
In my case, I chose makeup, since it is a subject that I like and throughout the course I had not worked yet.
I started working on the first ideas. The first thing that came to mind was the face of a girl, with big eyes accompanied by big eyelashes and nice lips.
The girl would go in the middle of the bag, while the other ideas were based on the product that the company sells. This shows a catalogue of the different types of make-up offered by the brand, which would be located on the sides of the bag.
Another option was a pair of first open eyes, then winking one eye, then the other and finally both eyes closed.
The name of the brand would be Look Kool. From the first moment I was clear, it means "See well, fresh".

The next step was to consolidate the ideas and therefore work more on the drawings. The first one I did was the girl's face. I drew them by hand with a pencil and once I finished it I used Photoshop to retouch the strokes and the whites so that it was seen correctly. The eyebrows were added later.

Then I drew the cosmetics: a base of makeup, a brush, a blush, a nail polish, mascara, eye shadows, a lipstick and a black eyeliner. When I had them drawn, I proceeded to paint them in watercolor and markers.
Then I worked with Photoshop to sharpen the color and eliminate the background.

At this point I also had the logo clear, it included the name of the company and the two "k" were looking to each other, in a way that only looking to these two letters it seems to be a face.
Once I had all the drawings, it was time to make the template for the bag. This in concrete have measures of 12x18x7 cm. Following the original idea I got a bag like this:

Once I had this, I noticed that the composition of the bag was meaningless and what failed most were the makeup products on the sides.
So, I tried to put the sides and bottom black.

I liked better this options, so I proceeded to print it. I did it on a DIN A3 cardboard and cut the template with scissors and a cutter to make the holes. I finally folded it and glue it.
For the handles of the bag I used white rope, I cut it in two equal parts, I went through the holes and made a knot in the end.
