POP UP

The statement talked about making a pop up style card with the idea of selling some product or idea. In my case I worked with flowers.

So, my pop up consists of a set of flowers of different colors that open when opening the card, creating the feeling that the flowers are blooming.

To do this I used white paper for the flowers: I took a DIN A4 and trimmed it in four equal parts. Then I folded these in half and then again in the middle. Then I made a small fold from a point to the vertical of the opposite side and cut the excess. I followed this way until I got seven flowers in total.

Then I chose three color ranges: yellow, pink and blue. I painted in a marker, with the lightest color the longest strips, then halfway and between the lines of the first color, with the intermediate color, finally with the darkest I painted over the first lines I made but this time were short petals, a finger long. When I had them, I glued them one on top of another alternating the verticality of these, but before I trimmed one of the triangles that are formed in the flower and pasted the ends that were loose, this way I avoid problems when opening and closing the pop up, since there is only one loose tab (the last fold we make) and it does not open well.

Finally I arranged a green A4 paperboard to simulate the leaves of the plant and glue the ends of two of the flowers opposite it.
